Participant Guide: Crime Rate

The Envision Participant Guide provides an in-depth exploration of the opportunities and challenges which may shape the future of Prince George’s County.

In today’s excerpt, we take a look at the crime rate:

Decreasing crime rate
Crime rates in the county have fluctuated from year to year, but, overall, crime rates have decreased by 14 percent in the past six years, after a steep one year increase of 14 percent in 2001. The crime rate, though, in Prince George’s County is double that of Montgomery County, but significantly lower than that of Washington, D.C.
