Heavy reliance on driving
Annual vehicle miles traveled were consistently highest in Prince George’s County between 2000 and 2008. The annual vehicle miles traveled in the county for 2008 was 8.7 billion miles, 17 percent more than in Montgomery County. Though Prince George’s County has 15 Metro stations, these stations provide little intracounty connectivity and there is little density around most stations.
