Priority Goals: Mixed-use, Walkable, And Bikeable Communities

SUSTAIN: GOAL 2 - Develop and redevelop vibrant, walkable/bikeable communities throughout the county with a mix of residences, retail and commercial businesses, and services.

In the Town Meeting, this goal tied with Public Transportation as 39% each voted in support of this goal.  Thus, it became the top priority in the SUSTAIN Envision area with the above definition.  30% voted in support of the following Goal in the LIVE Envision area: FOCUS DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSIT-ORIENTED, MIXED-USE COMMUNITIES around rail and bus stations that are pedestrian-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, safe, and have a great mixture of live and work amenities.

The MIXED-USE COMMUNITIES Community Action Team (CAT) will assess existing efforts in the county which support this goal, and work to identify key strategies to strengthen it.
