Bikes Can Change The World

The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) is collecting bicycles and bicycle parts in any condition to support the efforts of Bikes for the World (BfW).  A sponsored program of the WABA, Bikes for the World collects unwanted bikes and related materials in the U.S. to assist impoverished people in the D.C. area  and developing countries.  The Need for Wheels collection event takes place Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at six locations throughout Prince George’s County.  This event is sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation Recycling Committee and The Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources.  For details, click here or call 301-672-2270.

  1. I want to thank everyone who came out and donated bicycles, spare parts, helmets and money. All together we collected nearly 100 bicycles for Bikes for the World. I also want to thank the volunteers who took the time on a beautiful Saturday morning to help with the collection
