County Schools Receive Funding For Safe Routes To School

Prince George’s County Schools received a grant from Safe Routes to School (SRTS) totaling $897,000. The money will be used to improve bicycling and walking routes in the County around five schools: Glen Ridge, Oak Crest, Woodridge, Highland Park and Gray elementary schools. New Non-emergency Number For Police

In case you didn't notice in the last week, Prince George’s County has a new public safety telephone number. Residents can now call 301-352-1200 for non-emergency issues such as locating district stations, following up on police reports and finding other county agency numbers. Work To Begin On Inter-county Broadband Network

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III helped to break ground for a project that will lay broadband fiber across Prince George’s County. The fiber will run hundreds of miles and connect 119 new sites within Prince George’s County. Greenbelt Residents Give Their Input On The City’s Future

Nearly 25 Greenbelt residents and city officials met with Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission planners to discuss the Greenbelt Metro Area and state Route 193 Corridor visioning plan. Residents asked planners to consider adding additional crosswalks, bike lanes, and planting more trees. Final approval of the plan is scheduled to take place by September 2012. Contractor Headquarters Moves To Prince George’s County

The federal information technology contractor Erimax is returning to Prince George’s County after spending several years in Calvert County. Erimax is an IT company that offers IT services, acquisition management, and program management.
