County Executive Forms Education Commission

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker is establishing an education commission to advise him on ways to improve the county’s schools. The 12-member panel, consisting largely consists of parents, educators and business leaders, will provide Baker with recommendations to “move the system forward.” Segun Eubanks, director of teacher quality for the National Education Association, who has two children in county schools, will chair the commission. Members will include Charlene Dukes, president of Prince George’s Community College and a member of the Maryland State Board of Education; Donna Wiseman, dean of the College of Education at the University of Maryland at College Park; and Donnette Davis, head of Reid Temple Christian Academy.
