We will require two mini-vans for transportation from school to our locations. We will be reaching out to our resources; clergy, local officials, professionals in these skills, nutrient specialist, to come out to speak with our youth on a variety of motivational encouraging issues.

At last, but not lease…we are looking to pay our youth a stipend while they learn these trades. Parents will be pleased to know that their teenager is making their own money.

I'm a retired elder person who is a tenant in a multiresidential complex. This is a new experience for me since 1950 when I became my own landlord for fifty years. So I thnk it would be nice if this organization recognizes the special needs of all tenants in multiresidentials from birth to 100 years old. Maybe have a forum for us as a special interest group? My experience tells me that a lot of youngsters don't understand that maintianing architectural health doesn't change when you become your own landlord. Also landscape health. In addition, in areas where both single family and multiresidential families live together, there should be some understanding of the common community problems.

There are currently NO COUNTY GOLF COURSES available specifically for our youth, as opposed to numerous football fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc. Where will they learn to play?

If the solution requires a constitutional amendment that addresses the rights of those who are born in the US due to illegal entry of the mother, then it should be pursued and become part of the public policy debate.

A terrible obstacle to the prosperity of P.G. County residents is the invasion of our county by tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants are taking almost all of the good construction jobs that were once held by documented immigrants and citizens of our county by working for less than 50% of the position's actual salary. As a result documented immigrants and citizens are unable to get these jobs and must look to the county and state for aid. Illegal immigrants without documents also don't pay income taxes that are needed to fund our schools and other government resources. While illegal immigrants get paid "under the table" and evade income taxes, their children are packing our schools and demanding additional resources to educated them. In addition, many of the illegal immigrant mothers in P.G. County receive social services from the county (health-care, welfare, WIC, and food stamps) for themselves and their children at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars per year. This cost of course is being paid by all county tax-payers. Our resources are being drained and the presence of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants in the county is adding to our budge deficits. Our property taxes have increased, while the school board just cut $45 million from our already struggling school system. We cannot afford to continue supporting illegal immigrants and their children at the expense of tax-paying, law-abiding citizens and documented persons. No other country in the world will allow people to enter their country illegally, take jobs from their citizens, and drain their government's resources. Why are we allowing this to happen in the United States and in Prince George's County. ALL JOBS AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES MUST BE FOR DOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS AND U.S. CITIZENS ONLY!

My daughter is now 8 years old and is very excited to begin her second season of golf with the 1st Tee program. I have two more children coming behind her and would like very much to be able to take them to a golf course that's designed with youth in mind. In case people don't know, we have no such facility in Prince George's County. There are many courses, but none that are specifically for youth and it is quite a challenge for them to attempt to play and score well on the existing courses. We want to encourage our youth to excel in sports like golf, tennis, swimming, etc, but as yet we have not provided them with the necessary facilities and resources to hone these skills to become competitive at higher levels. You wouldn't expect students that want to become doctors to enroll in medical school if there were no hospitals or offices for them to work in, so why expect that these children would enroll in 1st Tee programs with no place to practice or play?

In 2010, we are proud of what we have in Prince George’s — our people, communities, cultural and historical heritage; our natural, recreational, business, and transportation resources; our higher education institutions; our proximity to Washington, D.C.--the world’s most powerful political capital and its surrounding region.

We will build on all of these attributes to achieve the following vision over the next 20 years:

We LIVE in safe and flourishing communities that have quality housing, affordable to all, healthy surroundings, and abundant amenities, services, schools and jobs. Our communities continue to include a diverse mix of new and existing residents and families of all ethnicities, incomes, and ages.

We WORK in a thriving economy, in balance with the natural environment, with ample jobs in the county for county residents. The county capitalizes on: new and existing industries that meet the needs of a globalized economy, including green and other cutting-edge technologies; systems that access and deliver renewable energy, and higher education and federal hubs and the industries and businesses that grow around them. We are known nationally as a great place to live and work.

We LEARN in a culture that emphasizes lifelong learning, with one of the best systems of Pre-K to graduate education in the country, including a high performing public school district, a world class center for higher education institutions, career and technical training programs, and other learning activities for everyone.

We SERVE the needs and aspirations of our residents with a responsive government, thriving nonprofit and business sectors, an active faith-based community, excellence in public safety; high levels of citizen, resident, and youth engagement; and robust community service. We work in powerful, effective, and inclusive ways to address our differences and make effective public decisions that are accountable and benefit all.

We ENJOY Prince George’s County, with its expanded network of recreational facilities and activities, entertainment opportunities, tourist destinations, unique heritage sites, wide array of parks and open spaces, and a vibrant arts community that increase the quality of life for our residents and visitors.

We SUSTAIN our county with greener communities, protected natural resources and rural areas, transit-oriented development, green jobs and other sustainable development practices. We proudly utilize resources in ways that allow our people and communities to meet their current needs while ensuring that those of future generations of Prince Georgians are also met. We have the will, the capacity, and the resources to fully implement the vision for the next decade and beyond.
