Work To Begin On Inter-county Broadband Network

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III helped to break ground for a project that will lay broadband fiber across Prince George’s County. The fiber will run hundreds of miles and connect 119 new sites within Prince George’s County. Greenbelt Residents Give Their Input On The City’s Future

Nearly 25 Greenbelt residents and city officials met with Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission planners to discuss the Greenbelt Metro Area and state Route 193 Corridor visioning plan. Residents asked planners to consider adding additional crosswalks, bike lanes, and planting more trees. Final approval of the plan is scheduled to take place by September 2012. Contractor Headquarters Moves To Prince George’s County

The federal information technology contractor Erimax is returning to Prince George’s County after spending several years in Calvert County. Erimax is an IT company that offers IT services, acquisition management, and program management. Metro And Town Center Development Could Begin Soon In College Park

The University of Maryland, College Park is on board to start development for a light rail line and a town center on the east side of campus. If granted permission by federal transit officials, preliminary engineering for the $1.93 billion Purple Line could begin this fall. County Wants Resident Input On Redrawing District Lines

Senior Activity Center Opening Delayed

After waiting more than 10 years, Laurel area senior citizens will have to wait another few months for a new senior center to open. Temple Hills Possible Home To Federal Tenant
