Farmers Market Opens On Branch Avenue

In an effort to rejuvenate the Branch Avenue corridor, particularly near the Branch Avenue Metro station, a farmers market has opened in the area. The market operates from 2 to 6 p.m. Fridays until November 19. The farmers market consists of six vendors, three of whom are farmers. Prince George’s County Receives Top Rating For Economic Strength

Prince George’s County received a perfect score of AAA from Wall Street’s three major bond rating agencies. The bond ratings are equivalent to a personal credit score and indicate to investors the economic strength of the county. Prince George’s County Council Passes 2012 Budget

The Prince George’s County Council unanimously approved a $2.65 billion budget for fiscal year 2012. This is the first budget for County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. Water And Sewer Bills To Increase 8.5 Percent In July

Beginning in July, water and sewer rates will increase 8.5 percent for customers of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). Prince George’s and Montgomery counties approved the increase along with a $1.19 billion budget for the utility. The increase will affect 1.8 customers living in the two counties.
