Work To Begin On Inter-county Broadband Network

Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III helped to break ground for a project that will lay broadband fiber across Prince George’s County. The fiber will run hundreds of miles and connect 119 new sites within Prince George’s County. The job is expected to connect over 1,000 sites statewide and create 2,000 jobs over the next three years. Read more at The Washington Informer.

Greenbelt Residents Give Their Input On The City’s Future

Nearly 25 Greenbelt residents and city officials met with Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission planners to discuss the Greenbelt Metro Area and state Route 193 Corridor visioning plan. Residents asked planners to consider adding additional crosswalks, bike lanes, and planting more trees. Final approval of the plan is scheduled to take place by September 2012.
